Winters make our taste buds crave for extravagant recipes. So why not discuss something delectable. Hariyali Chicken Tikka, a tempting North Indian dish ideal as a starter or snack. This dish has a beautiful aroma of fresh green herbs (which is why it has “hariyali” meaning green in its name) like mint and coriander along with regular Indian spices which makes it a popular choice amongst people.

RECIPE OF HARIYALI CHICKEN TIKKA

Ingredients:

2 boneless chicken breasts cut into cubes 1 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder 2 tsp of garam masala powder 1 tsp of Amchur or dry mango powder 1 tsp of cumin powder 1/4 cup curd Salt to taste 1 cup freshly ground Coriander leaves 1 cup freshly ground mint leaves 2 green chillies

Directions:

Wash and clean the boneless chicken breasts, cut them into 1 inch cubes and set aside. Now in a mixer grinder add in the coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chillies and grind them into a smooth paste, adding very little water in between. Transfer the ground masala into a mixing bowl and add in curd along with the rest of the powdered spices- turmeric, Kasmiri red chili, garam masala, dry mango, cumin and salt. Mix the masala well and add the chicken pieces into it. Keep the marinade for about 1 hour. Now heat a grill pan and drizzle some vegetable oil in it Then place the marinated chicken pieces and grill evenly on either side till it's nicely charred. The chicken pieces will take about 10 minutes to cook. Serve them hot with some sliced onions and lemon wedges.
